Only 4 More Sleeps!!

Yay! Christmas is approaching so quickly, yet this week could not go any slower. But, only two days left of school and then a two week vacay! I find it really odd that some schools already have this week and next week off and then go back to school right after New Years. So guess what? I bombed 2 math tests..like completely bombed them and I'm slightely upset about it. But, I'm over it and will move on. I am in dire need of a break though, I need to relax and catch up with friends. Funny story actually: So when I was in grade 2 my school closed down because it was too small, it was right across the street from my house and was the best school ever. Everyone knew eachother and it was like a big family. So anyways, after it closed I had to go to a new school which was down the street from my house. The first day there, I met a girl named Gracie, whom I recognized because she was the daughter of my mom's avon lady. So I had to walk home from school but it was raining, so I went up to Gracie and asked to walk under her umbrella with her. We ended up becoming best friends and hung out all the time. Her mom really likes doing puzzles, and whenever I'm at work in the puzzle section I always think of her mom. So then in grade 5, she got accepted to the gifted program and transferred to gifted school, and we stopped hanging out. We still got in touch a few times a year and we would have conversations like we were still best friends. Anyways I haven't seen her in over a year, until a few days ago at work I saw her and her mom buying a puzzle and it was really exciting, so we are going to hang out over break. Gracie is the nicest person you will ever meet, and so is her mom. They are so sweet and kind and will always help others before themselves. Always.

Oh! By the way..SUPER EXCITING!!! I believe in one of my last blogs I mentioned The Script, and how much I wanted them to come out with a new CD...or maybe not, but anyways, I went to HMV the other day and guess what was there?!! The new Script CD! I was so confused becasue I had no idea that they had come out with a new one, so I went home a googled when it came out and it isn't supposed to come out in the USA and Canada until January 18th! How I got it? No idea. Either the date changed and no one on the interweb reported it or someone really screwed up and I got a new CD before I was supposed to. Either way it's awesome for me and the album is AMAZING! No lie, when it does come out I recommend getting it, and in the mean time go out and buy the old one. They are a band from Ireland, they had a hit a few months back called Breakeven, you've probably heard it and not known it was them. They are awesome, the first CD is just called The Script and the newest one is Science and Faith. Check it out!!!! (now.)

Also, when I was at HMV I picked up the Neon Trees album, which is exactly what I though, really good too. It's good dancy music. AND I got the newest Kate Nash CD, and the new Bedouin Soundclash. 60 bucks well spent in my books. If you put me and my brother in an HMV we could stay there for hours and spend a ton of money. Together we were in there for about 20 minutes and spent 150 dollars. I really need to make more money. Anyways, I have a crapload of homework to do (like I said, I need a vacation).

Waiting outside a Mosque for an hour sucks.

Let's start off with talking a little about religion...I'm Catholic although I don't go to Church or pray that much...well really at all, but I do go to a Catholic School. I really don't understand religion at all, I mean I understand God and how he created the world and what not and I respect people that believe in God and worship. But, I don't understand the Bible, I guess it's probably because I wasn't raised a Relgious person. Anyways, at school we have to take a mandatory religion class. I'm in grade eleven so it is world religions and today was our world religions trip. We went around the city and Niagara Falls visiting all the different places of worship. First we went to the Ukranian Church...sooo beautiful, they paid some guy back in the 50's to paint it..like the whole thing..its gorgeous. Then to the mosque...but the Imam didn't show up so we waited there for an hour before heading to the synagogue. That was really interested, then to the Buddhist Temple (there were 10,000 Buddhas there!) and then to the Hindu Temple. Overall it was quite and interesting day, fascinating actually. Anyways, moving on.

So, my iPod broke (dying inside...). Well actually it's not broken, it just doesn't hold a charge which doesn't work when you want to use it. You can use it for about a day and you have to charge it nightly. So using a handy dandy tool called eBay, my dad went on and bought a new battery and a "take apart your own iPod tool kit" for only 10 bucks! So now he has it and is trying to fix it but that means I won't have an iPod for a few days. I'm already suffering. I always listen to it on the way home from school and it would have been really convientient while waiting outside the Mosque today. I pretty much take it everywhere, and I listen to it while walking my dogs. All in all, it sucks.

My dog Lochry..he's 8 months old, I also have an 8 year old named Hobbes. If you're wondering why they have the name's that you do it's because Hobbes' father's name was Calvin (..Calvin and Hobbes) and Lochry is named after a place my family visited in Scotland....we're Scottish...hence the last name McPherson.

I also got a new cell phone! I got the INQ Chat 3G. I wanted a Blackberry but since I can't afford a Blackberry I got this one. It's a little slow sometimes but I have interweb and facebook app plus unlimited texts for only 20 bucks a month....so really I can't complain at all.

What am I listening to right now?

Neon Trees! I just discovered this band a few weeks ago and I can't stop listening to the song 'Animal'. It's a dance party song and it's sooo catchy. I've only listened to about 5 songs so far but they're all really good. Next time I'm out shopping I have to pick up their album (it's called Habits). Check it out!

..can't say I hate the album artwork either ;)

Music time.

This is me...the picture in the corner is quite small and I haven't formally introduced myself with image yet so here you go!

So if you didn't know, I'm actually in love with music. Like in love, legit, no lie. It fills the silence, can put you in the right mood, makes you happy, makes you sad, it's universal...all powerful...epic would be the word of choice. Right now I'm listening to the One Republic album (Waking Up) that I've had on my computer for months but never go around to listening to and its awesome, it's a mix of slow chill songs and upbeat makes you want to sing along songs. Which is perfect in my opinion, I find that is an artist has all their songs in one...whats the word...like area/genre/tempo (you get it?) that is get's boring really fast and all sounds the same. You need a nice mix, which is what we have on this album. Check it out.

(I don't own this image...I did however purchase the album)

Anyways, on another note, I had an odd day today, I just didn't feel like myself. It's been happening a lot lately really. I think its the stress of my job and school and Christmas. But I went to the states tonight with mumsy and go a few more presents....I got a cute little piggy bank that looks like a reindeer for the girl I babysit for...its actually awesome and I got a mug with candy canes in it for my brothers gf (hopefully she doesn't read this..considering noone else does, that would be wierd).

^Reinder Piggy Bank! Sorry it's slightly blurry I was having troubles getting the right lighting...but it is still the cutest thing ever. I'm so excited to give it to her.
So anyways, now I only have to buy for my grandpa...the hardest one to buy for lol. He's a really smart guy (he has a PhD in physics) and he thinks that any music but classical is crap, I mean I don't mind classical, I think it's actually quite beatiful but I still enjoy other genres too. He still has a sense of humour and what not but it's so hard to find things he likes, I usually stick with coffee or books. That's the safe zone.

So also to let you know, I have a ginger friend named Carling (not after the beer..although some people call her beer girl) and she also has a blog <http://www.helloimcarling.blogspot.com/> she just did a little section on childhood memories which is really funny. Check that out too.

I feel like I just disappeared for a few days.

So, I haven't told you all yet, but I work at Toys R' Us, just for the Christmas rush and then I go back to my old job which is at the Avondale Dairy Bar. The Dairy Bar is awesome, hand made fresh ice cream daily! You can't beat that...I absolutely LOVE icecream, especially Brownies and Fudge. Best flavour ever. Anyways, I started working at the dairy last March all summer until October, now I work at TRU and then I go back to the dairy next March. So, Christmas at Toys R Us is crazy, we are open till midnight now, so I worked Friday till midnight, Saturday till midnight and then I opened today and worked till five, talk about no sleep. Oh, and someone puked yesterday in an isle....and I witnessed it (ick). The Christmas stress is really getting to me, my mom is already done shopping and has wrapped it all ( Igot a tower o gifts!) and I feel like I haven't gotten anything done. I basically forced my brother to take me out shopping tonight to get my mom's present. So now all I have to do is buy the rest of my brother's gift and then buy for my grandparents. Grandparetns are always so hard to buy for..what do they want? What do they need? I have no idea. But thankfully there's only 20 days until Christmas! YAY! I managed to get some baking in yesterday before work though, unfortunately it was only cookies from a premade store bought mix, I prefer from scratch but they will do. By the way, I highly recommend checking out this baking blog. I found it about a year ago and I go to it every time I want to bake, it's pretty much a cook book, but the girl running it tries out the recipes first and gives you tips on how to get the perfect batch (or cake, or pie or square...) everytime...love it! the website is http://www.lovintheoven.com/ she also runs a style blog if you want to check that out too. Next time I bake I'll post some pics...my whole family has fallen in love too because when I discovered it my baking got that much better :D So a tid bit about moi...I'm in highschool, I get above average grades, I want to be a doctor, I have a brother, 2 dogs, I would love to travel the entire world, I love music, I play the piano and saxophone (did I already mention that in previous posts?) and I love to bake! My family is really close, and I get bored really easily (hence the blog...). Oh! and  I love Christmas movies, I just finished watch Jingle All The Way!
